Draft Design Two: Here are my second design layouts for a school magazine. I think this one has a slightly different target audience age, mainly being aimed at a pre-school age. because of the font used for the masthead, it is a sans font which use different colours for each word, it creates a child like type of work. the overall layout of the magazine is good but I would only change the masthead, and also remove the price tag as that is not a convention for a school magazine as they are usually free.

Magazine Draft 1

Draft Design One: Here are my first magazine designs for a school magazine. All the codes and conventions for a real school genre magazine are shown within these drafts. The same house style has been used though out both of them. These ideas for my drafts came from my research analysis, which helped me develop my designs and main ideas. I think this particular draft is aimed it a targeted age of 16 plus as it has a formal look.

School Magazine Contents Analysis

Content Analysis: Here are my three magazine content analysis. The bottom and middle content pages are both from music magazines as I could not find any other school ones. The layout for the music magazine is quite similar to the one from the school but it is not as conventional. The top contents page is from a teacher magazine but it has the same professional quality as a school one. This one is by far the best and I will base my design layout around it.

School Magazine Cover Analysis

Cover Analysis: Here are my three school magazine cover analysis, the bottom magazine is targeted at an audience age of pre- 16, and the key genre is sports. The middle magazine cover up is aimed at either a student or parent audience with the key genre of science. And the last magazine is aimed at college students with the targeted audience age of post 16.

G321 Preliminary Task

Brief: To design and create the front cover and contents page of a school magazine aimed at pupils.
 In order to complete this task accurately it is required that we clearly identify the audience, complete research on the target audience and analyse existing products similar to those of which we are going to produce.
